We’re hosting our popular Bat House Workshop again this fall!   Join us at the Elkhart Environmental Center on Wednesday, October 15th from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM for a fun evening celebrating bats! Participants will learn about local bat species, their habits, and conservation during an informative presentation, then assemble their very own bat house to put up at home!   Bat house kits are $10 each and limited to one per household. This year, the event will be held over three days: Thursday, October 23rd | 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM (Kids’ Night) Friday, October 24th | 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM Saturday, October 25th | 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM   Our 2025 event will feature: A kid-friendly decorated trail (open every night) A scary, wooded trail with trail actors (open Friday & Saturday nights) LIVE music by That Homegrown Halloween Show Local food vendors Local artisan vendors A kids’ costume parade   Kids’ Night is Thursday, October 23rd! Whether you live in a house with a big backyard or in a small apartment, there are simple steps you can take to help support local wildlife at home – and, in the process, the environment on a larger scale. Get ideas on how to transform your outdoor space into an area that provides vital resources for insects, birds, and many other critters that bring our backyards to life. Join us for a local fish fry with Dan's Fish Fry services to help us here at Elkhart Northside Church of the Nazarene finish our community playground and pavilion project. All the money raised will go towards this project of helping us make a nice and safe space for our local Elkhart community. Ticket Prices are adults $14 @ the door, children 6-12 $10 @ the door, and children 5 and under eat free. We will have fish and tenderloins, sides, and desserts. You can dine in or carry out.
