    This is FREE to attend and provides education, resources for caregivers, and includes navigating levels of care, navigating finances, elder law information, Medicare Info and much more. Attendees will also receive a legacy binder for attending.

  • Holiday Lights Recycling Collection

    We are once again partnering with Schupan to collect and recycle old holiday lights this season! Broken or unwanted string and rope lights can be dropped off to the EEC any time between November 15th and January 31st to be collected for recycling. Dropping off after our business hours? Simply place items in the collection box on our CabinÕs front porch and we will take care of the rest. Thank you for recycling and reducing your waste this holiday season!

    The Elkhart Environmental Center is located at 1717 E. Lusher Avenue in Elkhart. Business hours are Monday Ð Friday 8 AM Ð 5 PM.

    Elkhart Northside Church of the Nazarene's Craft and Vendor Bazaar is back for our 3rd annual event with over 50 booths of fun crafts, direct sales, and small business'. Free admission and everyone is welcome! So come and join the fun and shop for all your holiday and personal items.Also featured at our Bazaar is an amazing Bake Sale and a Concessions stand selling breakfast, lunch, and snacks! This year, please consider donating to our New Community Playground and help us make a difference in our Northern Elkhart Area!

  • Old Fashioned Christmas

    Looking for a unique fun-filled Christmas family activity to kick off the season? On Sat. Nov. 25, 5:30 Ð 8:00 P.M., head to Oakwood Resort in Syracuse for an outdoor event, ChautauquaÕs Old Fashioned Christmas. You will encounter Santa and his reindeer (for petting), a Christmas photo booth, the Live Nativity, the reading of the Christmas story from the Bible in the historic Oakwood chapel AND of course, the Big Tree Lighting at 6:15 following the big countdown. Be on the lookout for roaming Christmas characters. Stop and listen to one of the many strolling musical groups. Listen to an elf read the Night Before Christmas. Get warmed up with some hot chocolate and munch on a cookie. DonÕt forget to pick up some Deer food to take home for SantaÕs reindeer. New this year - games for children on the path behind the event center. DonÕt forget a relaxing and enjoyable horse drawn wagon ride around the park. These are just some of the many fun activities at the Old Fashioned Christmas celebration.

    The Women's Ministry of the Community Church of Waterford are hosting their 2nd annual Makers Market & More event. Come out for an evening of shopping with local makers including artisans, leatherwork, bakers, handmade knits, artwork, and so much more. Bake sale proceeds go to the Children's Ministries at Community Church of Waterford.

  • Holiday Hoorah

    Celebrate the holiday season with Elkhart Public Library and the EEC on Saturday, December 9th! Make upcycled and wildlife-friendly ornaments, create holiday cards (or letters to Santa) using recycled materials, and listen to holiday stories from a guest librarian. If you feel like getting outdoors, explore our trails with a winter nature scavenger hunt! Light refreshments will be provided.

    Beat the winter blahs with us! Come learn a song and some tags with us and enjoy some hot chocolate as we show you what makes our chorus unique.

    While guests are always welcome to visit our rehearsals, we are having a special rehearsal to give you more introduction to River Bend Chorus and our parent organization, Sweet Adelines International.
