• Volunteer at Earth Day

    Volunteer with us and help us celebrate Earth Day at the Elkhart Environmental Center on Saturday, April 22nd! Our event is from 10 AM Ð 1 PM, but weÕre looking for volunteers to help fill shifts between 8 AM and 2:30 PM - sign up to help with event activities including our annual tree giveaway, or habitat restoration activity; or come early or stay later to help with setup and cleanup. We could not put on events like this without help from our wonderful volunteers--help us make this year another success!

  • Kosciusko County National Day of Prayer Noon Service

    The National Day of Prayer service for Kosciusko County will be held at noon on May 4th at the Winona Heritage Room, 901 Park Ave in Winona Lake. Dr. Drew Flamm, President of Grace College & Seminary, will give the keynote address. The community will be led in prayer for ministry and missions, families, education, media, business, military, and government.

    Looking for a unique gift for mom or grandma? Our crafters and vendors will have a wide selection of things perfect to give to the woman who deserves the best! We'll also have a plant and seedling sale, it's the perfect time to get your garden started, or you could buy your mom/wife/grandma a beautiful flowering plant. We will also have our famous beef & noodles and Polish sausage so come hungry!

  • Rain Garden & Rain Barrel Workshop

    Learn all about installing and maintaining rain gardens and rain barrels at this informational workshop on Tuesday, May 9th! Elkhart Soil and Water Conservation District will be hosting this session about conserving water in your own yard from 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM at the EEC.

  • Nature Play Days

    Bring kids out to the Elkhart Environmental Center this summer for our returning Nature Play Days! Each Tuesday in June, visit the EEC between 10 AM and 11:30 AM to participate in scavenger hunts, trail exploration, nature crafts, and other fun activities to encourage kids to get outdoors and play in nature. Most activities will be self-led with staff available to assist.

    This day is for all kids birth-6th grade. Nursery will not be participating in the day's activities, but care will be available for our littlest participants.

  • Vacation Bible School: Time Travel

    For VBS this year we are traveling back in time. We'll take a trip to the Wild West, the Medieval Ages, and even take a Safari. Children age 3 (must be potty trained) to entering 6th grade are welcome to join us at Faith UMC on this adventure. June 12-16, 3-5pm each day.

  • Cast The Past

    Cast The Past! Bring your family to fish on the Paw Paw River at the kayak launch in Lawrence. The event will be June 17th, 2023 from 12pm-3pm. Rain or shine. Have fun fishing and learn about the long history of lure manufacturing in the area and see a display of the coveted collectable Paw Paw Wotta Frog Lures. One of these famous lures will be raffled off. Kids under 17 do not need a fishing license. Hot dogs and soft drinks will be available. A $5 donation for childrenÕs cancer research is encouraged but not required.
